Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Team-signed pucks are an anomaly in our hobby, with the little black discs not exactly ideal to house multiple signatures. We have just that for your collecting interests, with a rarely-seen example from the Original Six era that features the early-1950s Montreal Canadiens. An official CCM Art Ross 1942-50 NHL game puck, off-white tape has been used to cover one side, with 15 signatures present, all administered in ballpoint. Included, we have deceased HOFers Irvin, Geoffrion, Harvey, Bouchard, Olmstead, Lach and Tom Johnson. The signatures are bold and all display well despite being bunched together, with just minimal wear including residue to both the puck itself and the Art Ross label.
Originating from the 1950-53 time-frame but most likely from 1950-51, others that have signed include Meger, Reay, Gamble, Mosdell, St Laurent, MacPherson and Gerry McNeil.
