Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Representing only the fourth Stanley Cup victory the hollowed Montreal Canadiens ever celebrated – as well as their first back-to back championships, we have a seldom-seen composite team picture of the 1930-31 Canadiens. At roughly 10 ½” x 20”, the black and white image features upper body cameos of the squad along with coaching staff, with legend Howie Morenz dead center – perfectly exemplifying his iconic status. Other famous HOFers present include Joliat, Hainsworth and Sylvio Mantha. Framed to full dimensions of 13” x 22 ½”, toning and foxing has taken place, with considerable water damage along the right hand third of the picture. The frame itself also shows heavy wear and should be replaced, with the back loosely attached with tape.
