Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Currently a scout for the Vegas Golden Knights, Mike Foligno spent 15 seasons playing at the highest level in the NHL, with both his scoring and physical prowess noteworthy. Hailing from his rookie era in the early-1980s, we have a signed circa 1980-81 Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by the Sudbury native, with 210 PIM garnered that very season. With an Olympic Sporting Goods label along the inside hem and just a laundering tag along the collar, the vintage mesh measures-out to roughly a size 50. Featuring the famous winged-wheel Red Wings team crest with embroidered detailing, the solid red garment has been accented with single white twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Foligno” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. An LOA will accompany.
Foligno has signed the jersey in blue marker within the reverse “7”, with heavy bleeding and fading taking place to the signature. With the garter-style fight strap intact, a few marks are present over the lower front and sleeves, with some toning to the knit waist band. There is also a pair of team repairs present, situated over the lower front and left sleeve respectively.
