Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Awesome game-issued Sher-Wood goalie sticks from 2 Hall of Famers – Ed Giacomin (ind. 1987), and Bernie Parent (ind. 1984) when they were stopping pucks in the 1970s - Parent mostly with Philadelphia, and Giacomin with the Rangers and later with Detroit. The sticks are similar in several ways, with the Sher-Wood and other letterings differing only slightly, along with a few other variations. Parent’s stick, with “B. Parent 1” stamped on the shaft, has dark stripes in the blade fiberglass, while Giacomin’s, with “E. Giacomin 1” stamped on the shaft, shows no black stripes on the blade and slightly less lettering on the paddle. As well, the sticks display different accent stripes on the paddles. In excellent, crack-free condition, these are a couple of fine game-issued sticks from the 2 legendary netminders.
