Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
If this looks like a Bobby Orr game-used stick to you, well, give yourself a pat on the back. It is! This beauty once wielded by the one and only Numbah 4 retains the legendary Boston Bruins defenseman’s original tape jobs. Bobby’s original white-over-black ribbed tape job is on the knob and his narrow bands of black tape sit on the blade towards the heel. “4” and “B Orr” are stamped on the shaft below the knob of his early-1970s Victoriaville Pro gamer. The two sets of accent stripes in yellow, white and black Bruins colors are still present. This solid and crack-free Orr games has nice wear on the bottom edge of the heel. A beauty to behold!
“Victoriaville Hockey Sticks Ltd.” is stamped on either side of the shaft and the “Fiberglass Patented 1960 #591454 Made in Canada” stamp low on the top side of the shaft, and a faint “Special Order Model” stamp above that There are tiny spots of white paint on two sides of the shaft that do not diminish the display of this awesome Orr gamer.
