Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Ah, Ottawa! Canada's capital city and home of the famous "Senators", the hockey Senators that is, decorated in hockey accomplishments dating back to the early 20th century when the city's pride was known as the "Silver Seven." We peg the hockey stick pin here, with red, white and black enamel inserts, to the 1910s, while the pin with crossed hockey sticks is circa late-1920s to mid-1930s. The former measures approximately 2-3/4" in length, while the latter, also with enamel inserts, is just under 1-1/2" in height. Both have survived in excellent condition, with a minor bend in one of the hockey sticks of the more recent pin and ditto for the other. The long list of Hall-of-Famers who toiled for the Senators includes Frank Nighbor, Punch Broadbent, Cy Denneny, King Clancy, Clint Benedict, Alex Connell, Jack Darragh and Buck Boucher. Oh, what hockey history!
