Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
A mind-boggling and masterful collection of Parade Sportive hockey pictures and related material, this ensemble will pique the interest of serious vintage collectors, especially Canadiens enthusiasts, who have hesitated in the past to “get involved” given the scope and scarcity of some of the pieces offered in conjunction with Paul Stuart’s French radio program. If this is not a complete “master” collection, it’s ridiculously close. A big binder commences with two different 1945-46 editions of a Canadiens photo album, original mailing envelopes, a rare Christmas card, and a sheet indicating 80, incl. different sports, could be had for a dollar! Six different Habs team pics include a ’44-45 collage job autographed by Maurice Richard and then it’s on to the individual player photos. The Rocket (autographed), Blake, Lach, Durnan and Bouchard, and “line” shots highlight, with larger-size variations with advertising and players from other teams completing the extravaganza. Please visit our website for further inviting details.
A few very scarce green/red/blue-tinted pictures are oh!-provoking, with pics of the Kraut Line and the Pony Line highlighting players from other NHL teams, with Lindsay, Lumley and Broda other notables. A dozen players posed in non-NHL uniforms complete and include goalies Gerry McNeil, Sugar Jim Henry (Ottawa Commandoes), Connie Dion and Jean Marois. Other pieces of interest are a trimmed checklist-like sheet and group shots of the Punch Line, Lamoureux-Durnan-Bouchard, Gagnon-Morenz-Joliat, the Razzle Dazzle Line and Gauthier-O’Connor-Hiller. An instant and extensive collection or great break-up value for an entrepreneurial hobbyist, this special collection offers several possibilities and is...fantastique!
