Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Impressive wool sweater that was game-worn by a member of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association's Barrie Flyers. A number of contributing factors, including matching dual maple leafs on either side of the tie-neck collar, and a beautifully scripted "Flyers" logo with felt piping, make this vintage jersey a sight to behold. Boston style B patches grace both shoulders, with the large back numbers sharing the same felt piping as the front crest. The red and blue are vibrant on this cream colored wool, with just a single Jack Watson Pro-Sports Garment Toronto tag located at the inner lower right seam. This garment was most likely worn by a member of the 1957-58 Barrie Flyers OMHA Juvenile Minor "A" Champs, and a photocopy of said team wearing these similar style sweaters will accompany this lot.
A few holes are present, including two on the front center below the team logo, one further down above the hem, a few around the elbow area of the left sleeve, and a few on the back around the numbers including one larger example at the lower blue striping band, and a group of 5 to the bottom left of the numerals.
