Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
The Boston Olympics enjoyed very prosperous years during this sweaters life, winning the EAHL four straight years from 1943-47. They survived in Beantown until 1952. This gorgeous cream-colored wool is in remarkable condition with absolutely no damage to note, and just a few small areas of staining/discoloration as well as fading mentioned for the sake of accuracy. A small team repair is visible on the edge of the left elbow patch, and a tiny size 48 tag is affixed to the inner left seam. With a beautiful thick embroidered winged "O" team logo, and a large felt #2 on back, we must emphasize that to try and find another Olympics sweater in this condition, would be an exercise in futility. A remarkable survivor in displayable condition, this prize wool originally came from the grandson of former head supervisor of the Boston Parks & Recreation Department James J. Dana, who skated in a few exhibitions with the club. Comes with an LOA from the grandson.
