Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Sidney Crosby used this Reebok gamer on January 21, 2010 in the Penguins’ 6-3 loss to Washington. Sid the Kid scored his 33rd goal of the 2009-10 season in that game and went on to score his Olympic gold medal-winning goal a little more than a month later. He finished the season with 51 goals to share the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy with Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos. Crosby’s No. 87 is written in black marker at the top of his white tape job on the knob and there is really nice game wear to the black tape job on the blade, which has worn through at the heel. “S. Crosby” is factory printed on the shaft of this beauty that was obtained from Sid and comes with a Frameworth COA and a Classic Auctions LOA.
A label affixed to the lower back of the shaft reads “1/21/10 VS. WASHINGTON CAPITALS (3-6) LOSS 1 GOAL”. Serial number label higher up shows wear and a Frameworth holofoil sticker is applied to the front of the lower shaft.
