Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
This distinctive 1940s “All-Star Style” game-worn wool hockey jersey was originally obtained from the family of former NHLer Art Chapman, a native of Winnipeg, and it was displayed for many years in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. Sisler Hummel, St. Louis, Mo. and dry cleaning instructions tagging is sewn inside the left rear hem along with a materials flag tag on the left. No. 4 and stars on the front and back are all red and blue sewn-on double felt that retains vivid colors. We do not know with which team or league it was used but it does seem to be a hockey jersey. There are various brown-colored stains on the front and back as well as some white spot stains on the front and holes throughout that do not diminish its display. Addendum; Please take note that according to new information received this jersey might not have ever been displayed in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
