From Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter's second go-round with the Montreal Expos (in 1992) comes this cool ensemble of catcher's gear, the styles of which can be matched to baseball cards of Gary. Included is an All-Star FM25SLX model mask, a red chest protector and a seemingly matched-up pair of shin guards. The leg protectors, also by All-Star, feature one with gray "trim" and another with red trim. Both have partially cracked kneecap sections and show significant use. The chest protector has a Velcro section on the interior of the right shoulder region, where additional padding could be affixed to better protect Carter's throwing arm. The mask also shows good game use and, like the chest protector, is in excellent condition. Completing the collection is a pair of game-worn pants that Gary pulled up in 1978. Serious game gear for Carter aficionados to pursue was originally obtained from a former Expos employee.
A size 35 Wilson tag is in the inner waist of the pants, along with chain-stitching on a piece of blue knit material that reveals "8 78 26 1". Road pants show good game use with stains at the knees and a one-inch team repair above the right knee.
