Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

From his final season in New Jersey in 1997-98 when he was still posting impressive numbers including 53 points scored in just 63 games, we have a Devils alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by Doug Gilmour during the 1998 Stanley Cup playoffs, with this example photo-matched. A CCM label and size “54” fly tag remain affixed to the collar, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the familiar Devils team crest in tackle twill, the white V-neck has been accented with oversized red sleeve and verso numbers with black trim, with “Gilmour” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. Killer would net 7 points including 5 goals in just 6 playoff games in 1998. A signed LOA from Doug Gilmour will accompany.
A few dark marks are visible over the lower front and right sleeve, with faint board burns over and near each elbow. Getty Image #385627 from April 22nd 1998 has been matched to the (larger) small black mark on the lower right sleeve. Getty Image #386547 from April 24th seems to be showing the small hole at the junction of the lower red and black stripes, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
