Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Bobby Hull and fellow HOFers Glenn Hall, Pierre Pilote, Ted Lindsay and Al Arbour are among the 18 members of the 1958-59 Chicago Black Hawks who autographed the team-signed puck featured in this lot of two vintage Black Hawks pucks. Coach Rudy Pilous, team captain Eddie Litzenberger and the likes of Ken Wharram, Elmer “Moose” Vasko, Tod Sloan and Earl Balfour have also autographed the team-signed puck, which is a rarely seen example from that era. Also included is a 1958-62 “Original Six” Art Ross game puck, the first to display a Black Hawks team logo! This one is very nicely preserved with a clean logo and a very narrow chip along the edge.
“1958-59 Chicago Black Hawks” is written on the white tape encircling the edge of the team-signed puck. The white tape that covers one side of the puck is signed by Rudy Pilous, Eddie Litzenberger, Lorne Ferguson, Glenn Hall, Ken Wharram, Al Arbour, Pierre Pilote, Dollard St-Laurent, Elmer Vasko, Glen Skov, Earl Balfour, Ron Murphy, John McKenzie, Bobby Hull, Ted Lindsay, Jack Evans, Eric Nesterenko and Tod Sloan. The CCM Official Art Ross National Hockey League puck rubberized orange octagonal crest is on the other side of the puck.
