Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Fantastic and classic Detroit Red Wings game-worn jersey dates from the late-1950s/early-1960s. Simply elegant No. 18 is sewn-on white twill on the back and both sleeves and Lippman’s tagging remains in the back of the collar. Bucky Hollingworth, Dale Anderson, Gordon Strate, Pete Goegan, Gus Mortson, Lloyd Haddon and Gerry Odrowski are among the defensemen who wore that number for the Red Wings of that era on a team that boasted Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe, and fellow HOFers Delvecchio, Ullman and Sawchuk. Talk about great company! This classic wool with loads of pilling measures out to about a size 48 and features a team repair on the back and a fabulous Winged Wheel crest on the front with finely detailed red thread embroidering. An awesome find for a Hockeytown or game-worn wool jersey collection.
