Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
In impossible-to-expect-nicer condition is this sensational card picturing Nick Wasnie, with card #64 garnering the highest mark ever awarded by PSA to a 1928-29 Paulin’s card. Of all the cards from Paulin’s second hockey card set to have been submitted to the company over the years, (all players and teams combined – just 361 as of April, 2015), only this Pop-1 Wasnie example and two others have merited NM-MT 8 recognition. The Wasnie “line” on the PSA Population Report includes five cards total, with an EX-MT 6 this card’s closest challenger. A right winger hailing from Winnipeg, Wasnie won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with the Montreal Canadiens starting in ’29-30.
