Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Hailing from the very first venue of the very first American NHL hockey team, we have a Boston Arena program from 1921-22. The Bruins home for their first three seasons, Boston Arena is still in use today, renamed Matthews Arena in 1979 once taken over by Northeastern University. The 6” x 9 ½” Jan 20th 1922 program features a pair of back-to-back matchups between Melrose and Arlington, and Malden and Newton, with interesting period ads present, including from equipment producers Wright & Ditson and Horace Partridge. With the binding tight, just a vertical crease is present, along with some minor toning and creasing.
