Bobby Hull and the Chicago Black Hawks’ first NHL regular season title are magnificently represented in the Golden Jet’s 1966-67 team-signed Northland game-used “banana hook” stick. Hull scored 52 goals as Chicago broke the 40-year “Curse of Muldoon” to bring home the Black Hawks’ first Prince of Wales Trophy as regular season champions. Hull has signed twice among the 16 Black Hawks players who signed for a total of 17 autographs on his gamer with “B. Hull” and “9” stamped on the shaft and his original tape jobs on the knob, which has Bobby’s custom-notched handle, and on its absurdly curved blade.
**Addendum - It should be added that this highly desirable Bobby Hull game-used stick does exhibit a few minor issues as previously mentioned including the grain separation along the top side of the shaft that could also be considered minimal age cracking. We should emphasize that despite the minor issues mentioned including the small area of missing wood along the top of the heal section, this stick displays absolutely beautifully, with the original glossy finish over the blade and lower shaft completely visible, along with the striping accents perfectly intact. The fact that the stampings are also dark and bold along with the wonderful signatures applied, this is definitely one of the nicest and visually pleasing Hull sticks we've ever handled, with a comparable example matching this stick's attractive aesthetics unlikely to surface.
Black Hawks coach Billy Reay signed below the Gunzo’s Sporst Center stamp high on the shaft and the stick is also signed in black marker by Hull and HOFers Glenn Hall and Pierre Pilote, as well as the likes of Wharram, Mohns, Hodge, Stapleton, Jarrett, Hay, Van Impe, Angotti, Boyer, Ravlich and DeJordy.
Hull placed a big, bold black marker autograph on the bottom front of the stick between the three black stripes and his vintage tape job on the blade. There is a chip on the top edge of the bottom of the shaft above the signature with a section of the wood missing from just above the heel up to the point above the middle of Hull’s autograph. There are a couple of separations in the grain of the wood that runs along the top edge of the shaft from just below the “B. Hull” stamp down to the three pieces of black tape low on the shaft.
