The Colorado Avalanche claimed the Western Conference championship in 2000-01, earning passage to the Stanley Cup final for the second time in six seasons. This fine miniature Clarence Campbell Bowl is from the personal collection of Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier, who was an assistant coach with the Avs in the spring of 2001. Colorado, which had lost three of the previous four Western Conference finals, swept Vancouver in the first round but needed seven games to get past Los Angeles in round two. Cut down by Dallas in the third round each of the previous two seasons, the Avalanche were not to be denied passage to the Stanley Cup final as they took out St. Louis in five to claim the Campbell Bowl. Colorado went on to beat New Jersey in a seven-game final to claim its second Stanley Cup. This personal miniature of the Campbell trophy presented to Trottier bears his name and title, engraved on one side of the handled bowl, joined by "Colorado Avalanche 2000-01", while the trophy's name and year of inception - "1968" - are engraved on the opposite side. Silver-plated keepsake sits atop a six-sided wooden base that stands 3" tall. The trophy remains in excellent condition, with minor tarnishing that may be easily cleaned up to note. Bryan Trottier's signed letter of authenticity accompanies this personal Campbell Bowl trophy.
