Hall of Fame center Bryan Trottier joined a very select group when he won his back-to-back Stanley Cups in the early-1990s as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. This is the gold and diamond championship that was presented to Trottier by the Penguins to commemorate their second straight Cup win in the spring of 1992. Trottier, a key contributor to the New York Islanders' Cup dynasty of the early-1980s, claimed his sixth Stanley Cup overall. He is one of only seven NHL players, along Bob Goldham, Red Kelly, Dick Duff, Frank Mahovlich, Larry Murphy and Patrick Roy, who have won multiple Cups with each of two different teams. The defending champion Penguins needed seven games to get past Washington in the first round and lost two of their first three against the New York Rangers in their division final. Everything fell into place after that as Pittsburgh won the next three games to take the series, and then swept Boston in the conference final before taking out Chicago in four straight in the Cup final, ending the Black Hawks' playoff record 11-game winning streak and matching it in the process. Mario Lemieux won his second straight Conn Smythe Trophy and Trottier contributed four goals and three assists in 21 playoff games. Exquisite championship creation by Balfour features a pair of large diamonds representing the Penguins' two Stanley Cups in gold settings set in a black stone on the tableau. "Stanley Cup Champions 91 92" surround the outer bezel in raised gold while 16 small diamonds are set around the inner bezel. The left shank features "Trottier", an enamel painted Penguins logo, and Trottier's number 19, all in raised gold. "Pittsburgh Penguins" is spelled out in raised gold on the right shank along with a banner that reads "Back to Back" over a pair of Stanley Cups. Substantial size 12 ring has "LGB 10K" stamped inside the band referencing Lloyd Garfield Balfour, the creator of the commemorative jewelry empire. This magnificent Penguins championship ring comes with Bryan Trottier's signed letter of authenticity.
