This exquisite diamond and gold ring was presented to Hall of Fame center Bryan Trottier to commemorate the New York Islanders' second straight Stanley Cup win in the spring of 1981. After finishing in the Top 10 in league scoring for a fourth straight season, Trottier contributed 11 goals and 18 assists in 18 playoff games. The Islanders defended their title by taking 11 of 13 games in series wins through the first three rounds over Toronto, Edmonton and the New York Rangers before dispatching Minnesota in a five-game final. From Bryan Trottier's personal collection, this substantial championship creation is crafted in 10 karat gold by Balfour. The size 11 ring displays a pair of large diamonds in gold settings set in a brilliant blue stone on the face representing the first two of the Islanders' four straight titles in the early-1980s. "Stanley Cup Champions 1981" is proclaimed in raised solid gold lettering on the outer edge of the bezel, while "New York" and "Islanders" are cleverly spelled out in smaller raised gold letters on the inner top and bottom edges of the bezel. The left shank has "Trottier" in raised letters with an enamel-painted Islanders logo beneath it and Trottier's number "19" in raised gold at the bottom. The right shank features a stylized image of the Stanley Cup trophy with the outline of the NHL shield behind in relief, with "NHL League Champions" in tiny raised letters within a shield at the bottom. "Balfour" and "10K" are stamped inside the band of this beauty which remains in excellent-plus condition. Bryan Trottier's signed letter of authenticity accompanies this superb Stanley Cup ring.
