From Borje Salming's personal collection, this impressive soapstone carving is a 1976 Canada Game MVP trophy, one of several awards the great Swedish defenceman claimed during the tournament. Salming led the Tre Kronor in scoring with four goals and seven points in five games and was named Sweden's tournament MVP. He also garnered a defenceman's spot on the tournament's All-Star Team alongside Canada Cup MVP Bobby Orr. This substantial piece of Inuit art is a rarely seen award that was presented to the most valuable player after each game of the inaugural Canada Cup. It stands 9 1/2" tall and comes with an unattached wood base, which has its original 1976 Canada Cup MVP plaque in French on the front. This rare award comes along with Borje Salming's signed LOA.
