Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Coach Badger Bob Johnson roamed the bench during late-Seventies and early-Eighties Wisconsin games wearing this iconic and instantly-recognizable red blazer with matching mascot-logo neck tie. Incredibly, this is the jacket Bob was wearing when his team took the NCAA Championship title in 1981. The ravishing red blazer features with Wisconsin Badgers "Bucky" emblem embroidered onto the left chest pocket and has two beautiful enameled University of Wisconsin crest buttons at the front with two more at each cuff. The jacket is in excellent and wearable condition and was custom tailored for "Bob Johnson" according to a tag inside an interior pocket. The tagging also lists the date of manufacture as "2-79".
The accompanying men's neck tie in similar coloring also features a repeated "Bucky" the Badger design and is identified as the Wisconsin Bucky Badger model on the tagging. Obtained in an estate sale of personal items that had been saved by Bob Johnson and will come with a letter of provenance.
