Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Great gathering of red and white themed clothing worn by Hall-of-Famer Badger Bob Johnson while leading his Wisconsin teams of the late Seventies. This lot includes two nylon, snap-front windbreaker coach's jackets, one with the Badgers skate logo screened onto the chest and WISCONSIN HOCKEY across the back (size XL). The second coat, in size 44-46" features a Budweiser sponsor patch on the left breast and a great U.W. Hockey slogan logo on the back. Both are in excellent and wearable condition. A sweet red knit hockey sweater is here with "Stolen from UW Athletic Dept." screened on the front and "Coach Johnson" and "1" sewn onto the back in single-layer tackle twill (Size 42-44"). Next, a red wool pullover sweater (Size XL) sports an embroidered Wisconsin Hockey emblem up on the chest and this can be worn over the included white polo shirt with four-button collar and the embroidered Wisconsin skate-logo crest. All five articles of clothing come bundled inside a wonderful red canvas equipment bag, adorned on one side with "Wisconsin Hockey" in white and the player number "31" and year "78" screened onto the opposite panel. In decent condition with some staining and a one-inch tear but both zippers function perfectly! Obtained in an estate sale of personal items that had been saved by Bob Johnson and will come with a letter of provenance.
