Culminating with Al Michaels' famous "Do you believe in Miracles" as time ticked down in the final minute of the third period, the 1980 United States Olympic hockey team did the seemingly impossible on February 22nd, 1980 in Lake Placid, New York by defeating the powerful Soviet Union squad that had won gold medals at five (5) of the previous six (6) Olympic Games. Going on to claim the gold medal for themselves after a win against Finland two (2) days later to give the country their second ever gold medal in ice hockey at the games, offered here is this uncut sheet of 1995 Signature Rookies "1980 Miracle on Ice" cards that have been signed by twenty-two (22) members of that gold medal winning squad. Measuring out to full dimensions of roughly 28" x 29" and featuring a total of forty-nine (49) cards plus a checklist on the sheet to total out to fifty (50), both PSA and Beckett holograms for the authenticity of the signatures have been affixed under the card of Dave Silk at the bottom left hand corner while another hologram is seen under the checklist card in the bottom right. Having been signed by twenty-two (22) players and staff with blue marker ink signatures that all display without issue, those that have signed include; Herb Brooks, Jim Craig, Mike Eruzione, Ken Morrow, Neal Broten, Bob Suter, Craig Patrick, Bill Baker, Dave Christian, Mark Johnson, Phil Verchota, Jack O'Callahan, Mike Ramsey, Mark Pavelich, Rob McClanahan, Buzz Schneider, Dave Silk, John Harrington, Steve Janaszak, Steve Christoff, Eric Strobel and Mark Wells. For the sheet itself, it remains in good condition despite some wear and creasing to the edges and corners, some light paper loss along the bottom left corner that extends out to the edges a bit. Additionally, a piece of masking tape is affixed to the upper reverse (not over the cards) and some blue ink marks are present over the lower reverse, once again not over the cards themselves, which display nicely over both sides.
