Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A wondrous opportunity for lovers of unopened “wax” here, with a 1971-72 Topps display box actually still home to (24) 10-cent packs. A Ken Dryden rookie card is of course now the top prize that one could discover, while at the time Orr, Hull and Howe cards were most coveted. The packs have been inspected by the specialists at Baseball Card Exchange, with the experts confirming that 19 packs are indeed unopened, with evidence of five having been opened and re-sealed. The box meanwhile measures 7-1/4” by 8-1/4” and is an inch thick. The box top has never been folded and thus the die-cut areas are still intact. Some light scuffs have led to minor color loss, with a two-inch horizontal crease observed from the left edge through the top of the “H” in Hockey. Light to moderate edge and corner wear is to report, with hockey booklet inserts advertised on the front panel and each pack, the latter each containing eight cards, (plus the booklet). Much to contemplate with this tempting booty.
