Jacques Plante Auction March 2006
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/28/2006
Another remarkable painting by Jacques Plante is this scene of a fishing village which includes boats and lobster traps. Done in oil on canvas board and featuring soft mauve and pinkish tones for the water and horizon, the painting is dated “3-6-64” in the lower right corner, beneath where artist Plante painted “J. Plante”. Wondrous work of art measures 18” by 24” and is complemented by an antique-finished wooden frame. Obtained recently from Plante’s widow Caroline who will sign a letter of authenticity to be included with this captivating piece.
