Ever-popular Topps issue is loaded with star and short-printed cards that collectors are always interested to hear about, with this assembly dominated by EX, EX+ and EX-MT examples, although some of the aforementioned keys are condition exceptions. Standouts from the 1st Series lineup are nine which make it to NM, including 47-Crozier RC (NM+), 14-Henry SP (OC) and 44-Kelly, with stars Sawchuk (EX-MT), Hall (EX), Hull SP (VG+), Beliveau SP (EX-MT+) and Richard (EX-MT) noteworthy. Checklists are unmarked with #54 creased (VG) and #55 off-centered (VG+). At VG are 1-Martin and 40-Bower. NM-or-better 2nd Series highlights are 60-Pulford, 69-Armstrong, 82-Lindsay and 108-Wharram AS, while Howe (OC), Plante (MC) and Horton are EX-MT and Hull All-Star close at EX+. We see the SPs as follows: Best at EX-MT are Williams and Nesterenko, with Pilote, Hicke and Mikita AS at EX+ and Dornhoefer RC and Rousseau at EX. Villemure is VG-EX while light creasing sends Paille RC and Horton AS to VG, with paper loss (reverse) lowering the otherwise VG Maki. Only other 2nd Series entries not making it to EX are 96-Gadsby (G), 99-Stewart (VG), 104-Stanley (VG+) and 110-Hall AS (VG). Completeness, bright original colors and minimal creasing/wear are attributes rendering this batch a rather appealing middle of the road ensemble.
