Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018

Old rivals Montreal and Toronto faced each other in the Stanley Cup finals in both 1958-59 and '59-60 and combine here in Parkhurst's popular '59-60 card set. This ensemble is in pleasing uniform condition, with hardly a crease spotted and the vast majority of cards in the EX neighborhood and the set averaging EX. Keys include 41-Plante (EX-MT), 2-M. Richard (VG-EX+), 6-Beliveau (VG-EX+), 23-Horton (EX), 24-Mahovlich (EX+), 32-Bower (EX-MT) and 39-H. Richard (EX+), with the first, (1-Canadiens on guard) and last, (50-Clancy) a little lesser (VG+) due to a small light corner crease. Two low grade multi-creased exceptions to upgrade, in our opinion, are 20-McDonald (F) and 29-Backstrom (G+). A few cards with wax/gum stains on the front are to report, along with even light toning on the fronts and the backs, the latter which are all clean and problem-free - nice. After the Habs took care of the Leafs in both aforementioned Cup finals, it wouldn't be long before Toronto strung together three consecutive Cup triumphs of their own. Players from two proud franchises await the high bidder here.
