Encapsulated treasures here were recently examined by PSA and are led by the rookie card of the man who led the NHL in scoring, (for the second of four straight years), that 1951-52 season, with Gordie Howe also leading the Red Wings to an impressive 8-game sweep of the playoffs, the Detroit squad considered one of the most powerful of all time. Nicely-centered Howe RC looks to be free of creases and received a mark of VG 3, with a Maurice Richard rookie slabbed Good 2 (MK), the qualifier a result of two partially-erased letters on the upper back. The group’s condition leader is the RC of Alex Delvecchio at EX-MT 6, while a Boom Boom Geoffrion rookie displays similarly but is lowered to Good 2 by paper loss on the reverse. A second Geoffrion, (he was rookie-of-the-year in ’51-52), and a Terry Sawchuk rookie each has tape stains at the top and bottom, helping to render them PR 1. Five legends of the game await the high bidder.
