Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
The all-time wins leader for Original Six netminders, Terry Sawchuk secured rookie of the year honours during his first season in the AHL in 1949, duplicating this feat upon his inaugural NHL season as the Calder Memorial winner with Detroit, in 1951. Released to an eager public during his sophomore campaign with the Red Wings, we have a 1951-52 Parkhurst Sawchuk rookie card, with this desirable specimen encapsulated and graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. An absolutely beautiful card with a clean and flawless reverse, almost 400 Sawchuk rookies have been graded by PSA, with their population report showing just 41 examples at this tier.
We should note some wear to the PSA holder including a few scratches.
