Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

A trio of classic card companies are represented in this exceptional group, with a 1933-34 O-Pee-Chee card album accompanied by a card of Bill Cook, (actually picturing brother Bun), graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Also from '33-34 and a multi-sport set is a Sport Kings (silhouette) wrapper with a few edge tears. Classic Parkhurst "Parkies" albums are from '52-53 and '54-55, with a nice Dickie Moore rookie card (EX+) and a NM common (57-Dickenson) matching up with the former and the latter joined by cards of Rocket Richard (VG) and Horton (G+), as well as two different of 82-Sasakamoose RC (regular back = EX-MT, Lucky Premium back = EX-MT+). A VG card of Lach and Richard (#30) is an entry from '53-54. A seldom seen Parkhurst box/wrapper similar to '51-52 hockey wrappers once held five Ripley's Believe It or Not cards, with a hockey/baseball example featuring Frank McGee a swell complement, as is a Believe It or Not hockey-themed blotter. Please see our website for more details of these swell relics.
Completing the collection is a 1960 Parkhurst gum wrapper that pictures Maple Leaf Ron Stewart. The hand-cut scarcity is tattered but still cool and is slabbed "Authentic" by PSA. Final notes deal with the three aforementioned albums. The less-common '33-34 OPC job has the name of a one-time owner penned to the cover, while the back cover reveals it was available for "Ten Wrappers and Seven Cents" with no unsightly cover creases/flaws to mention. The (toned) pages show evidence of having once held cards, with the middle two having become detached. The '52-53 Parkies "Photo Folio" is VG and nicer than the '54-55 album, with a crease-free Milt Schmidt card pasted in the spot for "My Favourite Hockey Star." Some tears and soiling affects the later album, which however has cardboard sheets with slits in them that were never used.
