The original Ottawa Senators won the city’s last Stanley Cup in 1927. The Senators were the most successful NHL team in the early days of the league with four Cups from 1920 to 1927, including three in four years. The Great Depression forced the team to move to St. Louis in 1933 before folding one year later. This beautifully mounted photo tribute is presented in a vintage 22" x 26" wood frame with the photo measuring out to about 13" x 16" under a muted tone matte. The montage of the 1926-27 Senators that refers to the team as, "Ottawa Hockey Association - Champions of the World, Holders of Stanley Cup, O’Brien and Prince of Wales Trophies" includes players such as George Boucher, Frank Nighbor, Cy Denneny, Frank Finnigan and King Clancy. By Hands Studios in Ottawa and preserved in near excellent condition. Originally obtained from the Frank Nighbor collection.
